Silom Complex Shopping centre Department store

Silom Complex is a shopping mall that’s only metres away from the BTS at Sala Daeng in Bangkok. It provides an air-conditioned space in which to shop, grab a bite to eat and escape from the hustle and bustle of the street outside.

Owned by the Central Group, it is relatively smaller than the other shopping centres around Bangkok but still offers a nice variety of international and local boutiques together with the multi-levelled Central Department Store.

Patpong

Patpong

Patpong is an entertainment district in Bangkok's Bang Rak District, Thailand, catering mainly, though not exclusively, to foreign tourists and expatriates. While Patpong is internationally known as a red light district at the heart of Bangkok's sex industry, it is in fact only one of several red-light districts with some catering primarily to Thai men while others, like Patpong, cater primarily to foreigners.

A busy night market aimed at tourists is also located in Patpong

Wat Arun

Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng, is a landmark temple on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya river. It’s easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok, not only because of its riverside location but also because the design is very different from the other temples you can visit in the Thai capital. Wat Arun (nicknamed the 'Temple of Dawn') is partly made up of colourfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water.

Wat Arun is almost directly opposite Wat Pho, so it’s very easy to get to. From Saphan Taksin boat pier you can take a riverboat that stops at Pier 8. From here, a small shuttle boat takes you from one side of the river to the other.
